Hi. Did you check with yout local malls yet? Cart & Kiosk rates run from $2000-$5000 per month for Jan - Oct then $8,000-$15,000 for Nov & Dec. This is about the same for most of the country. Go visit your local mall & talk to the management before you invest too much time, unless you can afford thr rent.

Yes I agree mall carts are not cheap at all, especially around christmas.Plus I have friends who have opened them, and they sit at the cart 12 hrs a day 7 days a week because you have to be open during mall hours. So pleeease do your homework and choose a good mall with high traffic, do not take the mall leasing agents word for their traffic count, they tend to over overestimate.

Shannon - You are right to suggest that a prospective mall cart operator should do their homework! One thing to look for is a product that you can DEMONSTRATE. Demonstration products generally have the highest profit potential AND lowest risk of potential mall cart products! A successful demonstration product can bring in over $100,000 in sales during the two month Christmas holiday selling season....which can make the mall rents seem like a bargain. But the key is to choose a profitable product! One the best places to look for products to sell in a mall cart or kiosk is the 'Specialty Retail Report' magazine. It comes out quarterly, and provides contact info for lots of proven and profitable mall cart products. Here is a link:http://www.kioskexpert.com/srr.htm The magazine also profiles successful cart entrepreneurs, and provides valuable business advice for the cart or kiosk operator! Anything that is sports related is a great item. There is always a season...in season, and if your local major league teams do well, people will buy almost anything with that team and there favorite player. But you have to find an item that is unique, other than t-shirts, pens, etc. I hope that helps. If you like any more help let me know. Denise www.sportcardcreations.com
